The twin/double room was fabulous with a safe box, a mini-bar, and central heating. Substantial continental breakfast served in the patio. - the location of the hotel was incredible - relatively near Chiesa della Madonna Nera.

Charming villa turned into a family-run hotel. The hosts were extremely helpful. An unique property with homey atmosphere. Hotel Villa Marie is a good place to spend a week on Lake Como for comfortable accommodation. We had a spacious room with balcony facing the lake (fantastic view), a good value for money. Villa has got a garden with swimmingpool and private parking. Location for us was ideal as it was reasonably close to the ferry terminal of Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta. If you are interested in hiking in the mountains you'll find Villa Marie a good startpoint.

The staff were delightful and couldn't be more helpful. The view out of the lakeside suites is brilliant. The breakfast was very good. The history of the house is fascinating and the painted ceilings throughout the hotel are beautiful. It has real old charm. The adjacent basillica is also beautiful.
It is a bit of a walk to the ferry--probably around half a Km, which is OK unless you are dragging suitcases.

Como and the facility are very lovely and romatic. the hosts were gracious and the service was perfect.
The street traffic is loud, but that is not unique to this facility. all it all, it was a terrific place.

We had the "blue suite" with the fresco ceiling, the room is massive with high ceilings. It has 4 sets of French windows opening onto a balcony overlooking fantastic views of Lake Como. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The hoteliers, a husband and wife team Andrea & Elizabeth, were perfect hosts. We were made very welcome and they offered advice on where to go, as well as directions walking times etc...

Our 2 night stay at this fabulous family run hotel was superb. The owners & staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke good english. The hotel has a great homely feel to it,we felt very welcome as soon as we walked in. it has underground secure parking and the hotel is right on the lake. Wow, the views are wonderful. Superb swimming pool. No evening meal service but the breakfast and light lunches are as good as it gets. Great wines at good prices. Our bedroom (with balcony) was huge, as was the en-suite. I could keep on. This hotel deserves all the praise it gets. Superb & a big thank you to the owners.

Christmas at this hotel was amazing! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect, with easy access to the lake and nearby villages. We loved the fact that we could enjoy breakfast on the terrace overlooking the beautiful views. The festive decorations added a special touch to our stay.
That the bed frame in our room was very squeaky and in need of replacement. This made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Beautiful and large suite was extremely comfortable and had stunning lakeviews on 2 sides. Charming and very helpful staff with good english. Excellent continental breakfast and late afternoon drinks around the bar/pool were very pleasant.
The penalty of views is that you have very loud traffic noise and also the local church rings clock timings all night so windows have to be closed .
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
